NRG | Vote for a charity

Reliant Gives

Three times per year, Reliant employees have the opportunity to act as community advocates by nominating organizations to receive charitable donations. At the end of each nomination period, the Reliant Charitable Giving Committee reviews all eligible submissions and selects three candidates, who are then presented to the public for voting. The charitable organization with the most votes will receive $100,000. The runner-up will receive $10,000, and the organization with the least votes will receive $5,000.

Share the love with your vote

The Warren Center - $100,000

The Warren Center - $100,000

The Warren Center serves, empowers and advocates for children and families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities. Our vision is to make sure all children, no matter their condition, reach their full potential. As of today, more than 2,500 families depend on The Warren Center for early detection and intervention strategies for their children. Every day, we help children learn to walk, talk and perform basic life skills. We do not want to turn even one family away because of their inability to pay.
How donation would be used: If awarded, the $100,000 will go directly to therapy services for children who need our help. Our services include physical and occupational therapy, speech and feeding therapy as well as educational workshops and support groups for parents and caregivers.

Snowdrop Foundation - $10,000

Snowdrop Foundation - $10,000

Snowdrop Foundation provides scholarships to childhood cancer survivors and current patients attending or planning to attend an institute of higher education in the U.S. To date, we have awarded 389 scholarships for a total of $1,096,347. In addition to the annual scholarship program, Snowdrop Foundation supports research at Texas Children's Cancer Center through a research grant totaling $1,070,000 since 2006.
How donation would be used: We would apply the $100,000 donation to the annual Snowdrop Scholarship Program. Cancer treatment is costly and can take its toll on families saving for college. Additional funding means we could empower more students with a quality education.

CYCLE - $5,000

CYCLE - $5,000

Changing Young Children's Lives through Education, is a children's charity dedicated to improving literacy for at-risk children in Grades K – 3 in Title One Elementary schools in the Greater Houston area. CYCLE's program enables students who improve their literacy skills in the classroom to earn a new bicycle. Sadly, only 37% of Houston third-graders hit Texas reading standards in 2013. Over the past twelve years, we have helped nearly 150,000 students living in poverty improve their academic performance, earning them a new bicycle and setting them on the road to success. CYCLE serves 10,000+ students annually and makes a meaningful impact on Houston education.
How your donation would be used: The $100,000 will be used to positively impact the educational performance of an additional 1,500+ deserving students' through our literacy program by funding new bicycles and helmets.
