More about the charities

CASA of Collin County

CASA of Collin County

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Collin County advocates for the best interest of children in foster care. The organization trains volunteer advocates to improve quality of life for children and to serve as a voice within the court system. These advocates help ensure that children are placed in a safe, permanent and loving homes.

In 2017, CASA of Collin County served more than 550 victims of child abuse. As populations grow, unfortunately, so do the number of abuse cases. CASA of Collin County’s goal is to represent and serve 100% of the abused and neglected children in our community.

Last year, 293 advocates committed over 21,000 volunteer hours to CASA, ensuring no child was left unheard. Financial support from Reliant Gives would allow CASA to continue training dedicated volunteers, increase the number of volunteers trained each year, and ensure that 100% of children placed into foster care have a voice.

The Rose

The Rose

The Rose reduces deaths from breast cancer by providing access to screening, diagnostics and treatment services to any woman regardless of her ability to pay. The Rose addresses any barrier that might keep a woman from caring for her own needs. Many women cite costs and lack of access as reasons they delay preventive services. Yet early detection mammography screenings are the most powerful weapons in the fight against breast cancer, which is 98% curable when detected early.

Securing a $100,000 donation would mean serving 500 women who need it the most. For most women, scheduling a mammogram is easy, and if diagnosed, we trust we’ll find timely treatment and personalized care. But for the uninsured women, medical care and basic screenings are a luxury. At The Rose every service we offer is available to our uninsured women, and while every woman we serve is a VIP, our sponsored women are a little extra special because someone in our community cared enough to help.

SIRE

SIRE

SIRE improves the quality of life for people with special needs through therapeutic horsemanship activities and therapies. Living with disabilities is often a long, arduous journey. At SIRE, through the special relationship between horses and humans, thousands of people have experienced increased independence, mobility, confidence, stability, strength, and self-esteem, allowing them to thrive in their daily lives. Children often take first steps and speak first words at SIRE.

A donation of $100,000 from Reliant Gives would fund critical needs for SIRE riders, including scholarships for families who desperately need these services, but cannot afford them. Funding would help SIRE upgrade vital facilities, build a new barn and new horse stables. It would also allow SIRE to update the sensory courses that aid students with Autism and cognitive processing needs. Thanks to Reliant Gives, SIRE could offset the more than $150,000 in cost per year to keep our herd of 46 trained horses healthy. Ultimately, this gift would not only help the over 250 riders we currently serve, but will ripple into the future to help hundreds, if not thousands more.
