More about the charities
Lunches of Love is dedicated to ensuring all children have the proper nutrients to learn, play and grow. We are 100% committed to ending childhood hunger in our community. Our 100% volunteer-based and driven organization is honored to have distributed 3 million lunches to children living in food insecure households.
Texas is ranked 3rd in the nation for food insecurity. Many children living in food insecure households rely on school lunch as their only meal of the day. Lunches of Love is here to help fill the gap during extended school holidays and weekends. In our community, a large percentage of our children are on free lunch during the school year. Many of these children would go hungry without Lunches of Love.
A $100,000 donation from Reliant Gives Vote would provide 133,333 lunches filled with nutrients, love and hope to innocent children. We would also be able to add different components to our Lunches of Love program that would give children the knowledge and experience to grow their own vegetables and fruits by adding a working garden to our facility.
Children are our future – help us feed our future.

For almost 100 years, Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Houston has cared for kids with special conditions requiring surgery and rehabilitation. One of our most important programs is the Cronin and Brauer Cleft Lip/Cleft Palate Clinic.
Facial clefts occur in nearly one out of 500 births and are the most common birth defects treated by pediatric plastic surgeons.
The Cronin and Brauer clinic is a place where a child with a cleft lip and/or palate can receive all needed services within a single location by a multidisciplinary team. The goal is for each child to have the best possible outcomes in function and appearance.
We currently care for over 600 children with facial clefts from birth to 18 years of age. $100,000 from Reliant Gives would allow us to purchase equipment for speech therapy and ensure that our services to restore a child’s smile will continue to be available, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Bo’s Place is a safe space for bereaved children and adults, where they can process difficult feelings and experiences in a peer group. Bo’s Place helps the bereaved feel understood and provides them with a community of support.
It is estimated that 1 in 15 children in the Metro Houston area will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18. When left unaddressed, grief and trauma reactions can result in a higher risk for anxiety, depression, post–traumatic stress and other challenges including academic struggles and issues with family and friends.
A $100,000 donation will provide trauma-informed grief support services and education, led by mental health professionals, to 5,500+ children, teens, adults, and community members. This will enable children and adults to develop coping skills to build resilience, help parents and guardians support their grieving children, and give families a sense of possibility and joy for a brighter future.
